Joe graduated from Lebanon and holds a postgraduate degree in Banking and Finance Law from the UK. He has worked as a senior legal and compliance office for a leading real estate company in Kuwait and as a senior legal advisor to one the leading banks in Kuwait.
He holds more than 20 years of GCC experience of working in different areas of corporate commercial law. His key areas of practice are joint ventures, mergers, and acquisitions, FIDIC related agreements, mixed development projects, banking and finance, corporate finance.
He has extensive experience of supervising, preparing, analysing, reviewing, drafting, and managing a wide range of international/cross-borders transactions, various Shari’ah compliant agreements including murabaha, mudaraba, wakala, wa’ad, and ijara agreements.
Additionally, he has been involved in trial preparation and attending over 700 lawsuits at court, represented national and international clients before courts of law, and assisting them in alternative dispute resolutions (arbitration, mediation, negotiation, and conciliation).
